BBC World Service. Course planning and trainer.

I devised and delivered a five-day training course to BBC World Service journalists in Sao Paolo, Kathmandu, Jakarta, London and Delhi. The goal was to get seasoned radio producers to think multiplatform and give them the resources to do so. The tool was the iPhone. We covered basics of filming, photography and sound recording with the device, incorporating a piloting of BBC app PNg. This enabled journalists to capture otherwise unobtainable content from extraordinary locations in tough conditions.

Here are some of the things I’m proud of.

They include—but are not limited to—developing and presenting a mixed-reality series, breaking Wikipedia records, training journalists around the world and telling stories about Cossacks, fishing, Apartheid, sport, Shakespeare, science fiction, deafness, Azeri oil, the world’s oldest passenger ferry, and pagans.
