Hello, I’m Deborah. I work in news, media and emerging technology. They don’t have to intersect.

I work a lot with Owain Rich, and for 4 years at NBC we devised and developed a series of practical AR/VR/MR experiments for news. I’ve talked about some of these at conferences.

Previously, I worked as a producer at the BBC for 9 years - conceptualising, producing and writing content for TV, radio and digital projects from around the world. 

Before that, I worked in art publishing and magazines. Like, on paper.

I really like thinking broadly and strategically about the big questions around content consumption. I wrangle ideas from different disciplines and bring them together to tell surprising stories. I love working as part of a team, commissioning work, and creating an environment where people can excel. And I also enjoy conducting training, getting others as enthusiastic about new things as I am.

I will also happily be called upon to have opinions about cultural things on air.

When not doing this, or that, I'm probably reading, on a plane, in a museum, at a gig, listening to podcasts, doing origami, taking extravagant pictures of my cat (@mrprettywhiskers) or noodling around the internet.
